Morris owns many papers that cover Big 12 sports. Among these are, The Topeka Capital-Journal, The Pittsburg Morning Sun, The Arkansas City Traveler, The Newton Kansan, The Dodge City Daily Globe, all in Kansas, The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and The Amarillo Globe-News in Texas, and The Grand Island Independent in Nebraska. Morris Communications employs over 6,000 men and women.

Six MCC web sites have been national award winners as named by the Newspaper Association of America, including four national newspaper site of the year awards.
The Augusta Chronicle won the award in 1998, The Glenwood Post won it in 1999 and The Florida Times-Union and The Athens Banner-Herald won it for their respective categories in 2000. In February of 2000, Editor and Publisher named The Florida Times-Union's site as the best newspaper sports web site in the world.
